New report funded in part by the British government reveals new details of the atrocities committed by Gaza terrorists on October 7th, including the “systematic” use of rape and humiliation as weapons of war.By World Israel News StaffA new report detailing the sexual atrocities committed by Gazan terrorists during the invasion of Israel on October 7th, 2023 is set to be released on Tuesday, marking the first comprehensive widely available publication of a large body of testimonies regarding the acts of sexual abuse during the invasion. On Saturday, the British Sunday Times reported that the Dinah Project is set to release this Tuesday its report on the use of rape as a weapon during the Gaza invasion. The project, an initiative of mostly Israeli jurists and anti-rape activists, was funded in part by the British government “to counter denial, misinformation and global silence.”While Tuesday’s report is not the first to detail the rape and other forms of sexual abuse committed during and after October 7th, 2023, it will be the first large-scale publication featuring testimony from large numbers of first-hand witnesses, including former hostages. The United Nations’ 9-member fact-finding mission, headed by Under-Secretary-General Pramilla Patten, released a report in March 2024, following over a month of activity in Israel, reviewing thousands of images, 50 hours of video footage, and conducting 34 interviews. However, the UN mission was completed without the benefit of testimonies from most of the Israeli hostages – many of whom were still in Gaza at the time – or from other witnesses who were not yet ready to share their experiences. The Dinah Project report includes dozens of testimonies including from 15 Israeli hostages held in Gaza who were later returned to Israel. Of those 15, only one has previously shared details of her experiences of sexual abuse at the hands of Gaza terrorists: attorney Amit Soussana. In addition, interviews were conducted with a survivor of the Nova music festival massacre who escaped an attempted rape, and with 17 other witnesses of the October 7th invasion. Additional interviews were conducted with therapists involved in treating survivors of the invasion, as well as 27 first responders who were called to the scenes of attacks on or after October 7th.Saturday’s report by the Times shared some details from the interviews, including the documentation of “widespread and systematic” sexual violence. The authors of the report found that Gaza terrorists weaponized rape during the invasion.“Hamas used sexual violence as a tactical weapon of war.”“Clear patterns emerged in how the sexual violence was perpetrated,” the report continues, “including victims found partially or fully naked with their hands tied, often to trees or poles; evidence of gang rapes followed by execution; and genital mutilation.”Acts of rape and sexual abuse, the report continues, were documented at multiple locations during the invasion, including the Nova music festival, at the IDF’s Nahal Oz base, on Route 232, and in three difference kibbutzim: Rei’m, Nir Oz, and Kfar Aza.Hostages were also subject to rape and sexual abuse after being taken into captivity.“Sexual violence continued in captivity, with many returnees reporting forced nudity, physical and verbal sexual harassment, sexual assaults and threats of forced marriage.”According to Sharon Zagagi-Pinhas, who helped initiate the project, the patterns of not merely sexual violence but also humiliation and mutilation suggest the use of rape and sexual abuse was “premeditated.”“Women found dead, naked and mutilated — with gunshots in their genitalia — and tied to trees. The fact that the same things happened in three to six locations can’t be coincidence but proof this was premeditated.”The pattern of rape followed by execution was repeated “dozens” of times, Zagagi-Pinhas said, with tens of female victims found stripped and murdered, often times while bound to trees. In other instances, the rape appeared to follow the victim’s murder, with the terrorists engaging in necrophilia.“Many of the witnesses we spoke to talk of the victims being shot and them still trying to rape a dead body,” Zagagi-Pinhas said. The post Gang rape, genital mutilation, necrophilia: UK-funded report reveals how Hamas weaponized rape appeared first on World Israel News.
