He said that during "some type of altercation" among juveniles a block away at a park July 5, shots were fired and struck the toddler.AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementSaying he was "appalled" and "upset" by the incident, Bettison pledged to step up its enforcement of the city's curfew. On Saturday, July 5, Detroit police said three teenagers were left in critical condition after a shooting around 3 a.m. near Acacia Avenue and Bentler Street in Detroit.That followed a June 27 shooting in which a 4-year-old boy and an 18-year-old man were killed on Skinner Playfield next to Denby High School in Detroit.
