Sophia resident charged with assaulting Police Officer, other offences

Shamar Williams, a 24-year-old resident of Sophia Squatting Area, Greater Georgetown, was charged on Monday after he assaulted a Police Officer and was involved in other traffic-related offences.Williams, who first appeared in the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court before Magistrate Fabayo Azore, had the following charges of assault, committed on a Police Constable, read to him:Assault Causing Actual Bodily Harm. He pleaded not guilty and was placed on $15,000 bailDamage to Property. He pleaded not guilty and was placed on $10,000 bailAssault of a Peace Officer with Intent to Resist Lawful. Williams was remanded to prison on this chargeThis matter was adjourned until June 23, 2025.Additionally, Williams later appeared before Magistrate S.
