A gang which had kept an eye on his movements attacked him near the Sindhanur cross. When Narinala was attacked, he tried to escape from the gang, and went into a bakery. However, the gang chased him inside, and hacked him to death. The crime was caught on a CCTV camera installed inside the bakery.A police officer said there has been a long-standing rivalry between the families of Channappa Narinala and Shyamanna Narinala, which started during a Panchayat election. Channappa Narinala’s family, who assured support to Shyamanna in the elections, later joined a rival camp, which led to Shyamanna losing the polls, leading to the rivalry.Ram L Arasiddi, Superintendent of Police, Koppal, also said the old rivalry between the Narinala families led to the killing of Channappa. “At least 10 people have been involved in the attack, and presently, seven have been arrested. Three more will be arrested soon,” added Arasiddi.Stay updated with the latest - Click here to follow us on Instagram© The Indian Express Pvt Ltd
