Honor, which was earlier a subsidiary of China's Huawei, has launched two new high-end phones. The Honor 400 and the Honor 400 Pro are meant to be flagship killers and come with value-for-money price tags. They use Samsung's 200MP sensor for their primary cameras.Honor 400 and Honor 400 Pro use Samsung's 200MP ISOCELL HP3 cameraThe Honor 400 and the Honor 400 Pro are quite similar in a lot of ways. They both use Samsung's 200MP ISOCELL HP3 (1/1.4-inch) camera sensor for the primary camera with OIS and an F1.8 aperture. It is the same camera sensor used in the Galaxy S23 Ultra, Galaxy S24 Ultra, and the Galaxy S25 Ultra. Both phones can record 4K 60fps videos using front and rear cameras. In comparison, Honor's flagship phones (like GT and Magic series) use 50MP cameras from Sony, which means the company thinks those sensors are better than Samsung's 200MP camera sensor. The Honor 400 and the Honor 400 Pro also feature a 6.55-inch OLED screen with 2.5K resolution, a 120Hz variable refresh rate, and 5,000 nits peak brightness. The Honor 400 and the Honor 400 Pro have a 12MP ultrawide camera with autofocus, but only the latter has a 50MP telephoto camera with OIS and 3x optical zoom. Both devices have a 50MP primary camera, but the Pro variant has an additional 2MP depth measuring camera. Both phones also feature stereo speakers, 5G, GPS, Bluetooth 5.4, IR port, NFC, USB 2.0 Type-C port, an in-display fingerprint reader, IP68/69 rating for dust and water resistance, and a 7,200mAh battery. They have 12GB/16GB RAM and 256GB/512GB internal storage. The Honor 400 has 80W fast charging, while the Honor 400 Pro features 90W fast charging and 50W fast wireless charging. The main difference between them is their chipsets. The Honor 400 uses the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 processor, while the Honor 400 Pro comes equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip. They both run Android 15-based MagicOS 9.0 software onboard and will get six major Android OS updates. The Honor 400 has a starting price of CNY 2,499 (~$346), while the Honor 400 starts at CNY 3,399 (~$472). Considering those prices, they are extremely well-specced phones. However, local prices in China are always lower, as all the manufacturing happens locally. Once such devices enter other countries, their prices jump drastically, as brands have to pay for transport, currency conversion, and local taxes abroad.Image Credits: HonorThe post Honor’s new high-end phones use Samsung’s 200MP main camera appeared first on SamMobile.
