The organisers of the Kares One Guyana T10 Tapeball Blast are urging teams to get registered as soon as they can.The early surge, since registration commenced on May 14, has resulted in limited spots remaining, especially in zones with a team limit of 16.According to Director John Ramsingh, the interest is at an all-time high given the expansion and lucrative prizes. The tournament is set to commence on June 28 in Berbice. It will then move to the other two counties before culminating in the championship finals on August 3 at the National Stadium, Providence.“We have not reached our target of 80 as yet, but we are on that path…the zones which have 16 teams are close to full, especially East Bank and West Demerara Zone and Essequibo Zone”, Ramsingh stated. He further stated that Berbice has also seen tremendous interest, as they will have matches in Skeldon and New Amsterdam on Saturday, before moving to Albion for the quarterfinals, semifinals, and final on Sunday.“We are busy behind the scenes planning and getting systems in place for this massive expansion… we are certainly looking forward to the launch on June 14 to reveal our full plans for the tournament and prizes for players and fans.”The tournament is scheduled to commence in Berbice from June 28-29, followed by zones in East Bank/West Demerara (July 5-6), Georgetown/East Coast Demerara (July 19-20), and Essequibo (July 26-27).The grand Championship Finals are slated for August 3rd at the National Stadium, Providence.President Dr. Irfaan Ali recently reaffirmed his support for the tournament, given that it answered his calls for expansion. The stakes are high, with lucrative prize money on offer.
