By combining digital forensics and manual tracking, the team traced the transactions to Nikhil Rathore and identified his brother-in-law, Kailash Rathore, as a key co-conspirator.A 26-year-old man was arrested on Thursday for allegedly orchestrating a fake air ticket booking scam in which a woman was duped of Rs 3 lakh, said police.According to police, the victim, Rashi Suri, had paid Rs 3 lakh to Nikhil Rathore, the accused, for a Canada-to-Delhi ticket and 17 domestic flights to Mumbai. Rathore initially booked some tickets but cancelled them later and siphoned the refunds into a different account. In other instances, the accused allegedly booked tickets using “pay later” options, with no payments made afterward. All communication between the accused and the complainant reportedly took place over WhatsApp, said police.The case was registered under section 318(4) (cheating) of  BNS.
