Today, during Summer Game Fest Live with Geoff Keighley, Tribute Games--the developers behind Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge and the upcoming Marvel: Cosmic Invasion--announced its next project: Scott Pilgrim EX. It's the first Scott Pilgrim video game since Ubisoft's Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World in 2010, and one which many of Tribute Games's developers worked on.Scott Pilgrim EX is a side-scrolling beat-'em-up game that features seven playable characters--each with their own unique special attacks--and up to four-player offline and online co-op. This new Scott Pilgrim adventure will also feature non-linear exploration, which will allow players to discover the in-game version of Toronto however they wish.The game is being developed and published by Tribute Games, in what the studio describes as a "creative partnership" with Scott Pilgrim creator Brian Lee O'Malley. Scott Pilgrim EX will feature new pixel art from famed artist Paul Robertson, as well as new music from Anamanaguchi, who provided the soundtrack to the previous game. BenDavid Grabinski, director of the recent Scott Pilgrim Takes Off movie on Netflix, is also part of this new project as a creative advisor.The Scott Pilgrim IP's previous video game adventure, Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World, launched in 2010 for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. An updated version, called the Complete Edition, was released on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC in 2021.Scott Pilgrim is slated to launch in 2026 for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
