Azealia Banks, who in the past endorsed President Donald Trump, blasts African American supporters of the Palestinian cause, rejects Palestinian statehood and calls for Israeli control over Judea, Samaria, and Gaza.By David Rosenberg, World Israel NewsAn American rapper declared herself a Zionist last week, while berating African American supporters of the Palestinian cause and rejecting the two-state solution in a series of social media posts over the last few days.In a spate of tweets beginning last Tuesday, 34-year-old Azealia Banks sparked controversy when she weighed in on issues ranging from the Israel-Arab conflict, the enslavement of blacks in the Arab and Muslim world, and Western responses to the Hamas invasion of Israel on October 7th, 2023.When asked by a fan on X whether she identified as “Zionist” or “pro-Palestine,” Banks responded “I’m a Zionist.”Her brief post set off a firestorm, drawing both condemnations and messages of support on social media.Over the next four days, Banks pushed back on criticism of her comments, taking aim at Islam, the Arab world, and both white and black critics of Israel.“No black person should be supporting Palestine,” Banks declared. “Whenever I see stupid ass musicians supporting Palestine blindly without raising the question about black peoples safety and the ongoing *industry* of CHATTEL SLAVERY enslavement of black peoples in the Islamic world It makes my blood BOIL.”“The Israel Palestine dilemma is just a way for non Jewish whites to throw a chip at Jews. Because if you *really* gave a f*** and *REALLY* examined the situation you would see that there are black people who have been silenced and had their limbs chopped off and thrown in cages for Arabs to have actually colonized the Middle East.”“ARABS ARE COLONIZERS TOO BITCHES,” Banks added. In subsequent posts, Banks described herself as “pro-Israel,” and wrote “F*** Palestine.”When social media users posted links to a 2018 article noting Banks’ previous declarations she would never perform in Israel again after she claimed to have encountered racism in a Tel Aviv show, the New York native doubled-down on her accusations, while downplaying the importance of her comments.“Ok so you’re pulling up something I said maybe 8 years ago,” Banks wrote. “Israel IS racist as hell and I had a very hard time being rejected at restaurants that were completely empty, rejected at the nail salon- ultimately welcomed to sit and have a meal by a brown man at a shakshuka place.”Banks emphasized that the Tel Aviv show itself “was amazing,” lauding her Israeli fans, adding that she would now be happy to return to Israel, “because now – in maturity, I’m able to discern and understand that my fans shouldn’t be punished nor should they deal with acts of protest – due to sh** they have no control over.”Banks has in the past made contradictory statements on a variety of issues, including her views on Jews and her erstwhile support for President Donald Trump, whom she endorsed in 2016, only to withdraw her endorsement on the eve of that year’s presidential election.Immediately after his 2016 election, however, Banks reiterated her support for Trump. In 2024, Banks took part in a Trump campaign event. She later told fans she planned to vote for Kamala Harris, before revealing she had in fact voted for Trump. In April 2025, however, she again expressed regret for backing Trump.Banks has a similarly ambiguous history of comments on Jews.In February 2021, as she announced her engagement to artist Ryder Ripps – who is Jewish – Banks wrote on Instagram that she is “Jewish now.”“I’m a jewcy [sic] diva now,” she added. In a tweet last Tuesday, however, Banks declared that Africans, not Jews “are the Chosen People.”“Jews will destroy you if you really subscribe to that ‘chosen people’ bullsh**. God would not make his chosen people allergic to the sun or make them inbred for give them 39 different genetic diseases specific to them. Africans are the Chosen People.”A day later, however, she claimed Jews suffer from a societal double standard.“Everybody wanna spill the Jew tea and gang up on the Jews but gag when the Muslim tea gets spilled.”Banks also called Tuesday for Israeli control over Judea, Samaria, and Gaza, rejecting the two-state solution.“It should all be Israel. Palestine cannot support itself without help from other countries so the people should just leave or become naturalized Israeli’s. Period.”“I have no clue what kind of ancestral karma is coming upon them but Palestine is not a country. The area is called JUDEA for a reason.”The post Rapper: ‘F*** Palestine, I’m a Zionist’ appeared first on World Israel News.
