4-year-old boy killed in road accident near Ambur

A four-year-old boy was killed in a road accident on the service lane of Chennai-Bengaluru Highway (NH 44) near Ambur town in Tirupattur.The police identified the victim as D. Vakuththaan of Pallur village near the town. The police said the boy’s father S. Dhandapani, 30, ran a mechanic shop, and Saddam Hussain, 25, worked there. To celebrate Bakrid, Hussain, along with and Vakuththaan, planned visiting his house in Madhanur. When they heading to Madhanur on a two-wheeler, an earth mover hit the vehicle.Hussain and Vakuththaan were both severely injured. Passers-by rushed them to the Madhanur primary health centre, where Vakuththaan was declared brought dead. Hussain was referred to the Government Medical College Hospital in Vellore for further treatment.The Ambur Taluk police registered a case against K. Prakash, 27, the earth mover’s driver.
