Matt Turner will reportedly be headed to France’s top flight.Lyon has agreed to acquire Turner from English Premier League side Nottingham Forest, The Athletic and ESPN reported. Forest will receive approximately €8million for Turner’s services as the American goalkeeper begins a new chapter in Ligue 1.The 30-year-old Turner most recently spent last season on loan at Crystal Palace, where he made four appearances for the club. He received an FA Cup winners medal as the Eagles defeated Manchester City 1-0 in the tournament final last May.Prior to his move to South London, Turner made 21 appearances for Nottingham Forest and seven appearances for Arsenal. The Connecticut native originally made his name with the New England Revolution in MLS, logging 24 clean sheets in 111 appearances. Turner has earned 51 caps for the U.S. men’s national team to date and is currently in Mauricio Pochettino’s squad ahead of the Gold Cup. Lyon finished sixth in Ligue 1 last season, qualifying for the 2025-26 UEFA Europa League.
