Thomas Tuchel hit out at England’s ‘lack of urgency’ and insisted he expects more from his players following the 1-0 win over Andorra. The Three Lions laboured to a narrow victory at the RCDE Stadium in Barcelona to maintain England’s 100 per cent winning record in World Cup qualifiers.Tuchel was critical of his England side after they won 1-0 against the 173rd in the world-ranked sideGettyEngland have now won in each of their three fixtures to leave them top of Group K with nine points having beaten Albania, Latvia and now Andorra.Captain Harry Kane scored the only goal of the game in the 50th minute, with the Bayern Munich marksman finding the back of the net in every game under Tuchel thus far.The win over Andorra has also seen Tuchel create history by becoming England’s first boss to win their opening three matches without conceding. But Tuchel was in no smiling mood following the full-time whistle, which saw the travelling England fans boo the Euro 2020 and Euro 2024 finalists.Speaking to talkSPORT’s England correspondent Faye Carruthers after the match, Tuchel bemoaned his side for switching off in the closing stages of the second half.He said: “I think we started quite well. I liked the first 25 minutes and the urgency and the commitment and the energy and quality.“I had the feeling in the first 25 minutes it was a matter of time when we score and create chances. We had a lot of chances, half chances and set pieces.“But we lost the momentum from minute to minute. I didn’t like the last 20 minutes in the first half.“Got a little bit better, maybe for 15 minutes in the second half, and lost it again completely. What I absolutely don’t like is how we ended this match.“I think we had a complete lack of urgency and lack of seriousness towards the occasion that we play. We play in the World Cup qualifiers. That was not the end that we expected.”Kane scored the only goal of the game to make it three wins from three in World Cup qualifyingGettyEngland are yet to concede in Tuchel’s opening three games in chargeAFPThe German continued: “I don’t know why we couldn’t keep the momentum going and couldn’t keep the energy going.“That is the question. But we became undisciplined in the position.“There were a lack of runs, a lack of counter-movements, a lack of urgency and determination to break this opponent down.“Then it looked slow and it looked a little bit freestyle. We could not see any more in which areas we wanted to get dangerous,“We’re not happy with that. Still, we got the three points we expected from us, but it was not good enough.”Tuchel then added: “We need to show more. We will not get away with a lot of points if we play like this.England have won five successive matches while keeping clean sheets for the first time since May 1982Getty“There’s no need for panic. At the moment everything is a learning. The support was absolutely fantastic.“We can just say thank you to everyone who made the travel and supported the team. It was outstanding. Atmosphere for an occasion like this is absolutely great.“That they were not happy in half-time when we have a 0-0 and we end the half like we ended the half.“No-one can complain about that. This is absolutely normal. Everyone accepted that. There’s not a problem.”England’s lack of effort was also noticed by Manchester United legend Roy Keane, who accused the players of looking ‘bored’ as the clock ran down.Speaking on ITV, he remarked: “We try to make excuses for England, it’s obviously the end of the season and it’s been tough on the players.Adrian Durham's full England player ratingsStarting XIJordan Pickford – 3Curtis Jones – 3Ezri Konsa – 3Dan Burn – 3Reece James – 3Jude Bellingham – 4Jordan Henderson – 2Mogan Rogers – 3Cole Palmer – 3Noni Madueke – 7Harry Kane – 5SubstitutesTrent Alexander-Arnold – 3Eberechi Eze – 3Declan Rice – N/AAnthony Gordon – N/AMorgan Gibbs-White – N/A“I thought the first half was okay, but I felt when they scored the goal, they felt it was job done.“I was really disappointed with England’s attitude after the goal went in, the manager can’t be happy with that effort in the last half-hour. I know it’s job done, but I still expect more from England.”Keane then stated: “But overall, particularly in the second half, the attitude wasn’t great.”He continued: “My worry is, when I see players getting bored, I felt like some of the players looked like they got bored in the last half an hour, and I don’t like to see that.“You’re up against Andorra, go and get some more goals, these players have to impress the manager, he’s still new to the job, you show that with your attitude, go and get some more goals.“Especially for the other attacking players, you can’t keep looking to Kane, Kane has been your main man for years, but other attacking players have to say, ‘I have to have an impact here.'”England are next in action on Tuesday where they will be meet Senegal at Nottingham Forest’s City Ground, live on talkSPORT.
