Ahead of elections in West Bengal where allegations of fake voters have been gaining political traction, the Opposition BJP has hit out at the ruling TMC over a “Kakdwip voter” who took part during the students’ protest in neighbouring Bangladesh that led to the fall of the Sheikh Hasina government.Identified as Newton Das, the youth claimed that he is a “genuine voter” in Kakdwip Assembly segment in South 24 Parganas, and was “caught” in the students’ revolution in Bangladesh while he was there for issues related to his ancestral property.
