By: Express News Service Ahmedabad | June 7, 2025 19:30 IST 2 min readTomar was allegedly earlier involved in six police cases.A man wanted in several cases registered at different police stations across Ahmedabad was apprehended on Saturday following a dramatic stand-off — he allegedly stood on the ledge of a residential building, and threatened to jump, said police.The Detection of Crime Branch (DCB) of the Ahmedabad City Police said the accused, identified as Abhishek alias Shooter Sanjaysinh Tomar, was absconding for some time.A tip-off was received that the accused was present at Shivam Awas in the Odhav area. Acting on this information, a team went to apprehend him.The accused then locked the apartment door from inside and did not open it even after being instructed to do so. He climbed out onto the ledge from the balcony adjacent to the kitchen, said officials.When the team forcefully broke open the door and entered the flat, they found the accused near the kitchen area. Upon seeing the team, he moved to the edge of the ledge and started livestreaming a video on social media using his mobile phone, threatening to jump off.The Crime Branch team immediately informed the Fire Department and the control room and took necessary action. The accused was ultimately detained using appropriate force.Tomar was allegedly earlier involved in six police cases.
