(Express Photo)A DAY after the consecration ceremony of Ram Darbar and six temples in the parcotta (rampart) of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, Shri Ram Janma Bhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust secretary Champat Rai said on Friday that while the construction work was likely to be “mostly complete” by November, the six temples in the parcotta would be open for public only after the monsoon, while the Ram Darbar would be opened only when proper arrangements for the elderly and other arrangements are in place.Rai informed the Ram Darbar is at a height of 20 feet from the Garbha Griha (sanctum sanctorum) and would require pilgrims to climb 40 steps (stairs). He said that as this might be a difficult task for the elderly and others who are unable to take the stairs, an elevator or a “lift” is under construction. He said other arrangements are also being made for the smooth movement of pilgrims and the darshan of the Ram Darbar would open only after that.He said darshan (for the public) at the temples in parcotta might take even more time and would be allowed only after the monsoon is over as construction work is in progress.“It is our responsibility to keep the security of pilgrims in mind,” Rai told mediapersons in Ayodhya.Asked about the completion of the temple, he said that one main task is left and that is hosting of flag on the top of the temple, which would also be a religious ceremony. He said that this would take place keeping the weather conditions in mind.“When it is not too cold… and the weather is pleasant and by that time the construction work would also be done. The ‘Dhwaja Rohan’ will take place then,” he said.Meanwhile, sources said the Trust is planning a big event in November this year to commemorate the completion of the construction work.Story continues below this ad“We can say after yesterday’s event that construction work is nearing completion,” said Rai, adding that after November, “around seven per cent of the work would remain and that would continue.”Sources said that while construction work is likely to be completed by the year-end, the landscaping would take time and is likely to continue as different vatikas, different types of trees and plants are to be planted in a “green belt to be developed surrounding the temple.”Stay updated with the latest - Click here to follow us on Instagram© The Indian Express Pvt LtdTags:Ram temple
