As Sheriff Judd put it on social media, he “waaaay” overreacted to the situation. According to reports, McDonald’s staff offered to correct the mistake if Shaffer came back, but he continued to call and make threats, so McDonald’s personnel called the police. The calls were traced to Shaffer’s home, and when police arrived, he admitted he made the calls because of the order but said he was joking. Still, police arrested Shaffer on charges of making a false report concerning the use of a firearm and misuse of a two-way communication device. Shaffer’s current legal status is unclear. Sheriff Judd: fighting crime, cracking jokes Thankfully, no one was hurt, and the Polk County Sheriff took a light touch in reporting the scary situation, announcing Shaffer’s antics landed him in “McJail,” calling Shaffer a “goober” for what he did. Shaffer, the Polk County Sheriff’s update said, “was upset about his fast food order not being correct, and he overreacted. Waaaay overreacted. So we made sure to get his criminal charges correct.” Sheriff Judd seems to be known for his humor, as one social media response to his update said, “I’m dying @ MacJail, MacNut, Judd gotta be the funniest sheriff in flawwwda.” Another added, “What a ‘McMoron’ (I’m lovin’ it !!!!)” And finally, “I’m wondering if they super sized his McArrest. Well, McGoober, enjoy your stay at the Judd Bed and Breakfast,” one comment said.
