India is boosting its energy storage. Around 12,500 MW of BESS projects are under tender. Another 3,300 MW are in the pipeline. The country aims for 8,500 MWh in two years. Current BESS capacity is around 205 MW. The government targets 3,000 MW of hydro pumped storage this year.
