A city-based plywood businessman, on Thursday, lodged a complaint with the Bengaluru city police over an extortion threat call he got from a man who claimed to be gangster Lawrence Bishnoi.Lawrence Bishnoi, presently lodged in Sabarmati Central Jail, Gujarat, is linked to several shootouts in India and Canada. If true, this is the first case of threat call being made by his gang to a businessman in Karnataka.The complainant said that the man who claimed to be Lawrence Bishnoi asked him to pay up ₹1 crore, failing which he threatened to abduct his son. Based on his complaint, an FIR was registered at Seshadripuram Police Station on Thursday.A senior police official said that there was no confirmation on the identity of the caller, and the investigation was under way. “At this stage, the case is still open.
