Yesterday, Samsung released the July 2025 security patch to the Galaxy S25 and the Galaxy S24 series, the first set of smartphones to get it. Usually, the brand offers a new security update to new and high-end devices first and to older and more affordable devices later. With that, you would think that the company would release the latest security update to the Galaxy S or Galaxy Z series devices next. Well, that, surprisingly, isn’t the case this time around.Samsung has released the July 2024 security patch to the Galaxy A04, a three-year old entry-level device, with other new and high-end devices still waiting for the update, which is an unusual move but certainly not for the first time. The tech giant is offering the latest update to the phone’s international variant, which has the model number SM-A045F. It carries firmware version A045FXXSBEYF5 and the update is live in Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam. To update your Galaxy A04 to the latest firmware, go to Settings » Software update » Download and install. If, for some reason, you want to take the second route, we recommend you to backup your data in the phone before proceeding ahead. The July 2025 security patch fixes many security issues which you can check out here.
