Anyone with similar issues? Is this endo pain or just my back and muscles?

Wait 5 sec.

Hi everyone, I'm looking for someone with a similar experience/problem. I was diagnosed with endometriosis in 2022 and have had two laparoscopic surgeries, but my pain and symptoms don't really match the typical presentation of this condition. I don't have heavy periods. My periods and ovulation are not particularly painful (I'd rate the pain about 4/10 on the first day of my period, and around 2/10 on the remaining days, and I'm able to function almost completely normally during that time). My menstrual cycle is regular. Intercourse is pain-free in about 95% of cases. I don't usually experience bloating. I have plenty of energy, actually more than I used to have. My skin has been in a relatively good and stable condition for years. However, I do experience fairly frequent pain in the left side of my lower back and abdomen/pelvis. These do NOT feel like gynecological pains—at least I think I can tell the difference. The sensation is more like tight, stiff muscles, pulling, tension, and sometimes a burning feeling. I regularly attend physiotherapy sessions and various treatments, and I also do exercises at home to relax my pelvic floor muscles. Despite that, the same problem and the same pain keep coming back. It feels as if the left side of my pelvic area becomes "locked up" or restricted. Coincidentally, that is also the side where the laparoscopic incisions were made. I also have scoliosis, and my posture currently puts more strain on the left side of my abdomen and lower back, which makes it quite difficult for me to identify the true source of the pain. Of course, I understand that endometriosis can sometimes present in indirect ways as well. So I'd like to ask whether anyone has had a similar experience, what helped you, and whether this sounds more like endometriosis-related pain or whether I should focus more on a musculoskeletal issue. Thank you! 😊 submitted by /u/MariaSVK [link] [comments]
