Government to transform Revenue administration with integrated Sub-Registrar offices: Ponguleti - The HinduPublished - June 04, 2026 09:05 pm ISTRavikanth Reddy R 6731Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy clarified that the government has no proposal to increase registration charges.Revised minimum land values have been fixed at ₹2.75 lakh per acre in rural areas, ₹5 lakh per acre in municipal corporation limits, ₹10 lakh per acre within the HMDA limits and ₹15 lakh per acre in the Outer Ring Road corridor.The Minister said that the government would review the revised valuations wherever necessary and invited citizens to submit complaints or seek clarifications through the toll-free number 1800 599 4788 or WhatsApp number 8247619983.He said that the previous government had raised registration fees from six per cent to 7.5% and said the present administration had instead adopted a scientific approach to revise land values while keeping the public interest in mind.The Minister said the government had rationalised the powers of Sub-Registrars to curb irregularities and ensure transparency.He said he had cleared nearly 3,500 pending files since assuming charge of the Revenue Department and ensured action against those found guilty of irregularities.He also stated that records relating to land transactions would be fully digitised and that assigned lands registered during the previous regime had been included in the prohibited properties list.Later, he inspected the construction works of an Integrated Sub-Registrar Office at Talim in GachibowliHighlighting reforms in the Stamps and Registration Department, the Minister said the government had introduced slot booking facilities and was constructing state-of-the-art integrated Sub-Registrar offices.In the first phase, 39 Sub-Registrar offices within the Outer Ring Road limits are being reorganised into 13 clusters and developed through private participation without imposing any financial burden on the government. The private developers will also maintain the facilities for five years.The integrated complexes, spread across three to five acres, will feature special facilities for marriage registrations, senior citizens and pregnant women, spacious waiting areas, feeding rooms for mothers, crèches for children and modern lift facilities for elderly and differently-abled persons.The Minister said foundation stones had already been laid for four such complexes and that the Gachibowli facility would be operational by December. Another integrated office is expected to be launched shortly at Koheda, while district headquarters will be covered in the second phase.On the proposed Future City project, the Minister ruled out any possibility of cancellation, stating that lands were not being allotted free of cost and that cancelling the project would create significant financial liabilities for the government.Published - June 04, 2026 09:05 pm ISTSign in to unlock member-only benefits!Access 10 free stories every monthSave stories to read laterAccess to comment on every storySign-up/manage your newsletter subscriptions with a single clickGet notified by email for early access to discounts & offers on our products${ ind + 1 } ${ device }Last active - ${ la }
