Has anyone experienced insuline resistence after stopping the pill?

Wait 5 sec.

After four years of being on dienogest, progesterone-only pill, within a week of stopping it, I have noticed that my baseline glucose was much, much higher, always in the low 100s and my fasting glucose went from being 75 to being between 95 and 100. I've worn a Dexcom for a couple of years because I was dealing with reactive hypoglycemia due to my dysautonomia, but that has resolved with time, I just kept wearing it to make sure this is actually resolved and that's what allowed me to see this massive change in my blood glucose. In between meals, it stays elevated for hours, and it never goes back down to my normal baseline. If it goes down, it goes down to 100, 100 and something, never below 100 and it's now been a month since I stopped the pill. I consulted my gynecologist and he says that it's completely unrelated, that it cannot happen, but I thought that maybe there are some hormonal changes after stopping the pill that are driving this sort of insulin resistance, and I'm just looking for somebody who has had a similar experience. submitted by /u/Ok-Welcome-5867 [link] [comments]
