Credit: 60 Minutes YouTube screenshotFired 60 Minutes propagandist Scott Pelley has responded furiously to his termination, and it’s the equivalent of the pot calling the kettle black.As The Gateway Pundit reported, CBS News fired Pelley on Tuesday night, a day after he blasted editor-in-chief Bari Weiss and accused her of trying to ‘murder’ the show.Then, newly appointed “60 Minutes” executive producer Nick Bilton told Pelley in a scathing letter that he was fired “for cause, effective immediately.”“You hijacked my first meeting with staff to disparage me, my qualifications, and my intentions with remarkable incivility and contempt, Bilton wrote.“I am here to deliver first-in-class news programming, not to make headlines about newsroom drama, he added. “Your antipathy to the future of the show has come through loud and clear. And I have heard you.”On Wednesday, Variety obtained Pelley’s response. As one will see, he is living in another world.Here is the statement:For my part, new management has instructed me to inject falsehoods and bias into a politically sensitive story. I’ve been told to include assertions that are unverified.To date, in every case, I have managed to ignore these instructions or refuse them. Recently, politicians have been invited to choose correspondents for interviews on the broadcast. Giving politicians control over 60 Minutes interviews is not how this is done.Finally, incompetence and unprofessionalism in the new management have wreaked havoc. In a case involving one of my stories, the entire program came within 19 minutes of not getting on the air at all.What makes this statement so ironic is that Pelley is the very definition of a lying propagandist.Just last May, he gave a hateful, falsehood-filled graduation speech at Wake Forest University. Unsurprisingly, the focus of his rage was President Trump.Courtesy of Newsbusters, here were the lowlights of the speech:Scott Pelley gave a commencement address at Wake Forest University that seethed with implicit hate for President Trump and the MAGA movement, telling graduates “freedom of speech,” “journalism,” “our sacred rule of law,” and “universities” are all “under attack” with “an insidious fear” permeating American “businesses,” “homes,” “school[s],” and even “private thoughts.”Pelley encouraged graduates to rise up, comparing them to Unionists fighting the Confederacy, the Allies fighting the Nazis, and the civil rights movement standing up to segregationists.
