The battle of ownership of the ‘See You Tonight’ music project and the sharing of its royalties between Cindy Sanyu and Omega 256,m and their respective managements continues to deepen.Omega 256 claims that in initial discussions before the music project was recorded, her management and Cindy’s management debated the ownership of the song and concluded with the ultimatum that the side that agreed to fund the project would own it.The Western Uganda-based artist states that the debate reached an end in agreement that her management takes on the funding of the project and hence its ownership. She remembers clearing bills from the recording stage, mastering, and even video shooting.Dispute over awards and royalties splits Cindy Sanyu and Omega 256Omega 256 went ahead to upload the song on her YouTube channel as per the prior agreement, and is now confused to hear Cindy Sanyu claim that she was unfairly treated when it came to splitting the ownership and royalties from the project. She further noted that she has all the necessary proof that she made payments to the producer of the song, the sound engineer who mastered it, and the video directorWe funded the project in agreement that we own the project, and that’s why I uploaded the song (on YouTube). I say all this out of respect because Cindy is an elder to me, my favourite artist, my friend, and my president in UMA. I give her respect.Let her present the receipts that prove that she funded the project because I have mine. Am sure she doesn’t even know who mastered that song. Am sure she doesn’t know how much the video cost.Cindy Lied, we agreed i fund the “See You Tonight” song and I own it – Omega 256 #EveningRushReloaded pic.twitter.com/kM8g861xfU— 100.2 Galaxy FM Zzina!
