I was recently diagnosed with Stage IV endometriosis. My right ovary has significantly reduced function and has become smaller in size, and I also have an endometrioma (ovarian cyst related to endometriosis) on my left ovary. The pain is beyond anything I ever imagined. In my case, the disease appears to involve nerves affecting my pelvis and rectal area, which has made daily life extremely difficult. My biggest dream is to become a mother, but at the same time I feel like I’m reaching the limit of what my body can tolerate. I’m trying to understand what options are available to stop the progression of the disease and improve my quality of life. Has anyone here chosen to have a hysterectomy because of severe endometriosis? If so, what was your experience? Did it help with the pain and symptoms? From what I understand, my situation may be more complicated because the endometriosis has already caused extensive adhesions involving other organs, but I would really appreciate hearing from anyone who has been through something similar. Thank you for sharing your experiences. submitted by /u/Efficient-Software59 [link] [comments]
