/u/SincerelyCynical on Care for my bedridden child for $5 an hour.

Wait 5 sec.

She needs friends or family who can help. I work from home during the summer, don’t have small children anymore, and have experienced a bedridden five year-old. I would volunteer to keep her kid for six hours for two days per week, but I would only do that if I knew her, and it would be a favor, not for pay. If someone is looking for a job that pays, this is not for them. If someone doesn’t know them personally, this is not for them. Too many people thinking how it used to be when we babysat for $3/hour at age 12 or 13. Babysitters are older, more experienced, and more respected than they used to be.
