Raju emphasized that translation is not merely linguistic but also cultural.“Along with proficiency in both languages, translators must have a deep understanding of the cultures of both languages,” he said.Scholar Meti Mallikarjun discussed the contributions of major thinkers in translation studies such as Walter Benjamin, Jacques Derrida, Gayatri Spivak, Homi K. Bhabha, D.R. Nagaraj, Tejaswini Niranjana.Usha Rani from the Indian Translation Mission informed the students about the activities and opportunities offered by the National Translation Mission.The program was presided over by Vice-Chancellor of the university Venkatesh K.Registrar S.B.
