In a new industry newsletter, The Jockey Club of America is launching a Thoroughbred Data Project which is intended as an innovation incubator to modernize how the organization works, the club said via a press release on Wednesday.The group said it is partnering with AWS and other technology experts in order to solve key challenges the sport faces. The release added that the goal is to build a centralized data lake with a working group of racetracks, designed to power analytics that can strengthen business models, grow the fan base and increase field size.The Jockey Club asks that anyone wanting to reach out can email chairman Everett Dobson (everett@jockeyclub.com) with any feedback or ideas that they wish to share.
