Folarin Balogun named Monaco’s Player of the Season

Folarin Balogun’s impactful third season with AS Monaco earned him a major recognition in the club ranks. Balogun was named the French side’s Player of the Season, AS Monaco announced Tuesday. His streak came to an end on April 25, but Balogun responded by scoring once in his next league outing on May 2. In UEFA Champions League play, Balogun scored five goals, with two of those proving to be winners against Galatasaray and Bodo/Glimt. He also found the back of the net twice against PSG in the Round of 32. After scoring 12 goals in his first two seasons combined at Monaco, Balogun took his production to new heights by delivering the second-most goals in a single campaign for his career to date. In total, Balogun has contributed 31 goals and nine assists in 91 appearances for Monaco since joining from Arsenal in August 2023. Balogun is currently with the U.S. men’s national team as they prepare for the FIFA World Cup on home soil. He most recently scored in the USMNT’s 3-2 friendly victory over Senegal on Sunday.
