Instead, buyers stepped in and price recovered significantly during the session or shortly thereafter. The pattern was not simply "price down." The pattern was "price down, then rejection of lower prices." What Does a Professional See? Professionals are less interested in the size of the gap and more interested in what the market accomplished with that fear. The May selloff already answered an important question: Large-scale selling pressure was present, but it failed to create lasting structural damage.
