Yikes! I had to get my cyst (and ovary) removed shortly after getting laid off. (Thank goodness for COBRA!) Anyhow, I was very down at the time over this, and asked what would happen if I didn't found out about this. Basically, it was exactly what happened to you. Yikes, that must have been painful!
