Satheesan tables White Paper on State finances in AssemblyResponding to media queries, Ms. Shailaja said she had no knowledge of the matter and that the “investigation will continue”, irrespective of whether she welcomed it or not.She maintained that her role in the election was only that of a candidate and asserted that no communal polarisation had taken place in Vadakara.Meanwhile, Vadakara MP Shafi Parambil welcomed the government’s decision to constitute an SIT to investigate the controversy.In a statement, Mr. Parambil alleged that the “fake screenshot” was a planned creation by the CPI(M) with the objective of disrupting the harmonious atmosphere in Vadakara and creating communal divisions among voters for political gain.He said the SIT investigation should uncover the real conspirators behind the misinformation campaign and trace its source so that those responsible can be brought before the law.The screenshot controversy had emerged during the Lok Sabha election campaign in Vadakara, triggering allegations and counter-allegations between political parties over attempts to influence voters through communal narratives.
