Ok, while i do not want to stand up for the CB....theyre not the same. I had the KA one for years(because it was what I could afford), you have to plan to make icecream, have room in your freezer for a bowl, & youre only making one batch a day. With the ninja? I dump in a bottle of juice on a whim & we have slushies in 20m. Feeling like milkshakes immediately later? Dump in milk/cream, yolks, sugar, & vanilla-milkshake in 20m. We also have an actual icecream maker with compressor...again, I can make 5 batches back to back if I would like The KA served me well for 20y(I kept it in the freezer), but it is night & day different-especially in a large family where the KA would give everyone a small spoon of icecream-lol I have 4 kids still in the house(5 total), the cost was pretty easy to justify...i bought the ninja for $250, the icecream maker w/compressor for $150(one was a gift to my foodie daughter who begged for it the whole year(along with other things), the other was a gift to me at Christmas-that the foodie got to open). So I also think the CB is pretty ridiculous not trying to help herself!! Look for sales, do what you have to do for your kid if that is what you want!!!
