View this post on Instagram A post shared by Lovin Malta (@lovinmalta)Speaking in an Instagram story, Schembri said work on preparing the new premises will begin tomorrow, with hopes of having the shop up and running in around a week and a half.Schembri repeatedly thanked everyone who has supported the business over the past few days, expressing his gratitude for the help and encouragement he has received. Once the new premises are ready, he said the business will share its new address with customers. The development comes after an excavator overturned outside Meme’s Fleuriste during ongoing works in Tarxien Square, bringing renewed attention to concerns surrounding the project.Speaking to Lovin Malta following the incident, Schembri said he had been left “frustrated” and “angry”, fearing for the future of a business he had spent years building. He said he had previously requested assistance in finding an alternative location as works continued outside his shop.He also feared losing some of the florist’s most important trading periods, including Christmas and Valentine’s Day, and said he was prepared to move operations online if necessary. Now, however, the business appears set for a new chapter in nearby Fgura, with Schembri hoping it will only be a matter of days before Meme’s Fleuriste can welcome customers through its doors again.Best of luck to Stephen and the Meme’s Fleuriste team with getting their new home ready.Instagram Video: memesfleuriste•
