Timeform’s Top Juveniles: No Nay Never’s Bengal Tiger Runs to Big Figure at Naas

Wait 5 sec.

The Timeform rankings return to highlight the top-rated maiden/novice winners in Britain and Ireland from the past four weeks (September 14-October 11), with a recent wide-margin winner at Naas leading the way.=5. CAPABILITY BROWN (IRE)Dubawi (Ire) – Maybe (Ire), by Galileo (Ire)Timeform performance rating: 94Trained by Aidan O'Brien, Capability Brown relished the step up in distance when winning the 9f maiden run at the Curragh on September 27, stepping up markedly on the form of his two previous starts as he made virtually all to win by over two lengths in comfortable fashion, with the timefigure underpinning a positive view of the form. The Coolmore homebred is one of five winners out of the G1 Moyglare Stud Stakes heroine Maybe, with the others including the 2,000 Guineas-winning sire Saxon Warrior and G3 Gallinule Stakes scorer Drumroll, both by Deep Impact. This colt promises to be suited by middle-distances, with a Derby trial appealing as an obvious starting point next spring. In the meantime, he shouldn't be underestimated if taking up his entry in the G1 Futurity Trophy at Doncaster, a race also won by Saxon Warrior back in 2017. Irish European Breeders Fund Maiden @curraghraceCurragh – Maiden – 2 ans -1810m – 12 Pts – 21 999 €Capability Brown (m2) (Ire) Wayne Lordan(Dubawi (Ire) @DarleyEurope – Maybe (Ire) par Galileo (Ire))A P O'BrienMichael Tabor & Derrick Smith & Mrs John Magnier— French and International Horse Racing (@Vincenzo0612) September 27, 2026=5. NOBLE EXHIBIT (IRE)Frankel (GB) – Prize Exhibit (GB), by Showcasing (GB)Timeform performance rating: 94The ante-post betting for the Futurity Trophy is dominated by Capability Brown's stablemate, Noble Exhibit, who is following a familiar path to Doncaster, having won the Beresford Stakes at the Curragh on September 26. Three of the last five winners of that Group 2 were also successful on Town Moor – namely Luxembourg (2021), Hotazhell (2024) and Hawk Mountain (2025) – not to mention the aforementioned Saxon Warrior. Now with a Timeform master rating of 110p, Noble Exhibit earns his place in the rankings through his emphatic maiden victory over 1m at Punchestown back on September 15, when making all to land the spoils by seven lengths. He's improved in leaps and bounds in his short career to date and there should be more to come from him as his stamina is drawn out further. A son of Frankel, he is a three-parts brother to the G3 Cornelscourt Stakes scorer History (Galileo), while his multiple Grade II-winning dam is a full-sister to the G1 Sussex Stakes-winning sire Mohaather. Noble Exhibit (Frankel) ran behind the exciting Monogram on debut last time and wins as he likes second-time out under @waynemlordan for Aidan O'Brien @punchestownrace https://t.co/6B5PQEYX0z— Racing TV (@RacingTV) September 15, 2026 =5. PIRATE ANNE BONNY (IRE)Blackbeard (Ire) – Fiorellina (Ire), by Galileo (Ire)Timeform performance rating: 94Pirate Anne Bonny confirmed the promise of her debut when winning the 7f maiden run at the Curragh on October 4, justifying odds-on favouritism with the minimum of fuss. Sent straight to the front by Billy Lee, she was shaken up entering the final furlong and quickly skipped clear from there to prove herself in a different league to her six rivals, ultimately winning by six and a half lengths in the style of one who should stay 1m when the time comes. One of 23 individual winners in Europe from the first crop of Blackbeard – who currently trails Persian Force by two in the race to be crowned leading freshman sire – Pirate Anne Bonny is the first foal out of her unraced dam, a full-sister to the G3 Stanerra Stakes runner-up Federica Sophia and a half to the Listed Trigo Stakes heroine Elizabeth Jane (Dubawi). Her granddam, meanwhile, is the G2 British Champions Fillies & Mares Stakes scorer Sapphire (Medicean), a half-sister to Galileo's multiple Group 1 winners Kyprios and Search For A Song, as well as High Chaparral's G1 Prince Of Wales's Stakes-winning sire Free Eagle. plunders the seven-furlong maiden @curraghrace ‍An eyecatcher on debut @NaasRacecourse last month, @ptwomeyracing's young daughter of Blackbeard is clearly very useful – and still holds an Irish Guineas entry …. https://t.co/ShtcBuxwDW— Racing TV (@RacingTV) October 4, 2026 =3. JESUS GREEN (IRE)Ghaiyyath (Ire) – Marbella (Ire), by Invincible Spirit (Ire)Timeform performance rating: 95Joseph O'Brien's Jesus Green possesses some of the strongest two-year-old form in the book, having split the exciting Wall Street (Sea The Stars) and subsequent G3 Zetland Stakes winner Drumbeat (Wootton Bassett) on his debut at Leopardstown on August 6, before again filling the runner-up spot – behind none other than Darkness Falls (Camelot) – when upped markedly in class for the G1 Golden Fleece Stakes at the same venue on September 12.Back down in grade, the son of Ghaiyyath then didn't need to run to his Timeform master rating of 102p to get off the mark at the third attempt at Navan on October 7, impressively winning that 1m maiden as he quickened clear under a hands-and-heels ride to pass the post three lengths clear of his closest pursuer. Bought for 100,000gns at Book 2 of the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale, Jesus Green, who is from the family of the G3 Bengough Stakes-winning sire Lightning Moon, remains open to improvement and is likely to be on the Derby trail next year. Third time luckyGroup 1-placed Jesus Green (Ghaiyyath), last seen chasing home Darkness Falls at the Irish Champions Festival, gets off the mark @NavanRacecourse under Joey Sheridan for @JosephOBrien2 https://t.co/kgeDtYr5Mv— Racing TV (@RacingTV) October 7, 2026 =3. SALT LAKE (IRE)Persian Force (Ire) – Lady Aria (GB), by Kodiac (GB)Timeform performance rating: 95One of the leading performers from the first crop of Persian Force, Salt Lake is another who has already achieved a three-figure Timeform master rating [102], having been beaten just a neck when last seen finishing second in the Listed Star Appeal Stakes at Dundalk on October 2.Before that, Salt Lake contested a pair of maidens which have each thrown up their fair share of winners, first splitting Monogram (Kingman) and the aforementioned Noble Exhibit over 7f at the Curragh on August 22, before opening his account when dropped back to 6f at Naas on September 17. On the latter occasion he won by nearly four lengths from Ballydoyle's Bengal Tiger – more on whom shortly – leading from the outset and just needing to be kept up to his work in the closing stages to go clear. Now well established as a useful colt after going so close at Dundalk, Salt Lake is the third black-type performer out of the G3 Dick Poole Fillies' Stakes runner-up Lady Aria, along with the G2 Blue Point Sprint winner West Acre (Mehmas) and the dual Group 3-winning juvenile Lady Iman (Starman). He was bought by Amo Racing for 135,000gns at Tattersalls October Book 1. Good stuff here from Salt Lake (Persian Force), only beaten by Monogram in a lovely debut and much the best second-time out for Robson De Aguiar and @amoracingltd @NaasRacecourse https://t.co/YkXMf1jG6Q— Racing TV (@RacingTV) September 17, 2026 2. SHARADD (IRE)Dark Angel (Ire) – Silk Bow (GB), by Elusive CityTimeform performance rating: 99The William Haggas-trained Sharadd took top billing in the previous instalment of this column after his sparkling winning debut at Haydock on September 3. Four weeks on, the son of Dark Angel is forced to settle for the runner-up spot in our rankings this time, though his performance when following up in the 6f novice run at York on October 9 represented another step up the ladder from what remains a most exciting prospect.Sent off the 4-9 favourite in a field of five, with connections adopting the patient approach rather than pitching him straight in at Pattern level, Sharadd again looked a colt capable of mixing it in better company as he defied a penalty to lead home another last-time-out winner. At the line he had a length and a half to spare, impressing most with his strength at the finish under a hands-and-heels ride, just as he had at Haydock five weeks earlier. Now possessing a Timeform master rating of 102P, Sharadd should stay 7f when the situation demands it, though his immediate family is made up mostly of sprinters, with a campaign geared around the G1 Commonwealth Cup perhaps on his agenda in 2027. More immediately, this pedigree was in the news again on Tuesday when Sharadd's half-brother by Lope De Vega sold to Richard Brown of Blandford Bloodstock for 650,000gns at Tattersalls October Book 2. The exciting Sharadd makes it two from two in the £25,000 @WillHillRacing Epic Boosts @BritishEBF Novice Stakes for @TomMarquand and @WilliamHaggas https://t.co/jTq0lyGFNM— York Racecourse (@yorkracecourse) October 9, 2026 1. BENGAL TIGER (IRE)No Nay Never – On Ice (Ire), by Galileo (Ire)Timeform performance rating: 104After chasing home Salt Lake at Naas, Bengal Tiger left that form well behind when going one place better over the same course and distance on October 11, achieving a big figure for what was a relatively lowly maiden. Indeed, it's easy to make the case that Bengal Tiger didn't have much in the way of meaningful competition, but then he could do no more than win as easily as he did, positively routing his six rivals as he quickened from the front to land the spoils by 12 lengths. The timefigure provides plenty of substance to the form and Bengal Tiger has the pedigree to suggest that stepping up to 7f and beyond could unlock further progress. He's one of four winners out of his unraced dam, with the others including the Listed Naas Oaks Trial scorer and G2 Blandford Stakes third Galleria Borghese (Caravaggio). On Ice, in turn, is a full-sister to the G1 Racing Post Trophy-winning sire Kingsbarns, as well as being a half to the GIII Senorita Stakes heroine Sweeter Still (Rock Of Gibraltar), the dam of the 2,000 Guineas-winning sire Kameko, another previous winner of that Doncaster Group 1.Bengal Tiger holds a choice of engagements on Saturday, with entries in both the G3 Killavullan Stakes at Leopardstown and the Qatar Racing British Champions Day Two-Year-Old Conditions Stakes at Ascot. Wherever he appears next, the son of No Nay Never will be one to keep on the right side. Wow!A dominant win for favourite Bengal Tiger (No Nay Never), who makes it third time lucky for Aidan O'Brien under Ryan Moore @NaasRacecourse https://t.co/EPEJxq6ZOE— Racing TV (@RacingTV) October 11, 2026The post Timeform’s Top Juveniles: No Nay Never’s Bengal Tiger Runs to Big Figure at Naas appeared first on TDN | Thoroughbred Daily News | Horse Racing News, Results and Video | Thoroughbred Breeding and Auctions.
