Even if they don’t expect any help with loading and unloading (which is utter bullshit), they’re expecting the driver to give up a minimum of 14 hours of their time (driving plus loading/unloading) and put significant miles on their vehicle for free. The level of entitlement is staggering. One of the best things my dad instilled in me was the idea that my time has value and that I should be mindful about how I spend it and who I give it to. If I’m going to donate an entire day to helping others, it’s not going to be two cheap freeloaders who think it’s no big deal to expect this from a stranger just because they don’t feel like paying for a U-Haul like the rest of us.
