Hey everyone, I wanted to use my PC from the couch like a console, without fighting the Windows desktop with a controller. So I built Nova, a fullscreen home screen for Windows that you can drive entirely with a gamepad. What it does One game library: finds games from Steam, Epic, GOG, Xbox / Game Pass, Ubisoft Connect, EA app and Battle.net, with cover art, playtime, Steam news and download progress Apps and streaming: desktop and Microsoft Store apps; YouTube, Netflix, Disney+, Twitch and others open in fullscreen app mode Files and media: thumbnail file browser (copy, paste, rename, recycle bin), photo / video / music player, PDF and text preview In-game quick menu: press Start + View (or Ctrl+Alt+G) during a game for screenshots, a 30-second clip via Xbox Game Bar, volume, or closing the game Control Center: volume, brightness, now playing, CPU / GPU stats, weather, sleep timer Extras: trophies, multiple user profiles, daily play-time limits, a phone remote over Wi-Fi, English and Turkish UI Xbox controllers work through XInput; DualShock 4 and DualSense work through Windows.Gaming.Input, no DS4Windows needed. Ctrl+Alt+N or Start + View brings Nova back from anywhere, even after it's closed. Known limitations It's an early version (v0.3.1), so expect rough edges The in-game menu may not appear over some exclusive-fullscreen games The exe isn't code-signed yet, so Windows SmartScreen will warn you on first launch Feedback from DualSense / DS4 users is especially welcome Links GitHub (MIT license): https://github.com/Berkya97/nova-console Download: https://github.com/Berkya97/nova-console/releases/latest I'd love to hear your feedback, bug reports or feature ideas. What would make this useful for your setup? submitted by /u/Apprehensive-Phone41 [link] [comments]
