USDJPY: Buyers Are Defending the TrendU.S. DOLLAR / JAPANESE YENFX_IDC:USDJPYParadise_NoirHello traders, USDJPY is showing a solid recovery after buyers stepped back in around the 156.2–156.8 support area. Fundamentally, the yen is receiving some support from expectations that the BOJ will continue normalizing monetary policy. At the same time, elevated U.S. Treasury yields are still giving the dollar an advantage. This tug-of-war has kept USDJPY from accelerating higher, but it has not been enough to break the broader bullish structure. ㅤ On the 4H chart, price remains inside the ascending channel that has been developing since early September. The latest pullback brought USDJPY directly into the lower boundary of the channel and the nearby support zone. Instead of breaking lower, price was quickly bought back up. That reaction matters because it shows buyers are still willing to defend the trend when the pair trades at lower levels. ㅤ USDJPY is now trading around 158.2 and has moved back above the Ichimoku area. If support continues to hold, I expect the recovery to extend toward 159.0–159.8, where price will meet an important resistance zone. That will be the next key area to watch before expecting a larger move higher. ㅤ In summary, USDJPY remains in a bullish structure despite the recent pullback. As long as 156.2–156.8 and the lower boundary of the channel remain intact, I continue to favor BUY setups on confirmed pullbacks, with 159.0–159.8 as the first target area.
