Kolkata pandal stampede: Authorities arrested several individuals connected to the stampede at Chorebagan Sarbojanin Durga Puja pandal. The incident resulted in 19 fatalities and many injuries needing treatment. Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari and Union Home Minister Amit Shah visited the injured in hospitals. Compensation for families of the deceased and injured has been announced by the state government.
