Endrick has been told to leave Real Madrid in January to make the most of his career – despite Jose Mourinho’s claims to the contrary. The 20-year-old striker has played less than 10 minutes of football this season, having made just one appearance for Los Blancos.Endrick has barely featured under Mourinho since the Special One returned to MadridGettyEndrick was regarded as one of the most exciting young talents in the world upon his move to Madrid from Palmeiras in 2024.However, he has consistently found game time hard to come by in Spain and spent the second half of last season on loan at Lyon. The Brazil international rejuvenated his career in France, scoring eight goals and registering eight assists in 21 outings for Les Gones. His form was enough for Endrick to force his way into his country’s World Cup squad, and he appeared four times at the tournament.Endrick transfer updateRenewed speculation over his future emerged later in the summer after Madrid completed the signing of Yan Diomande for a fee worth up to £120million, while Vinicius Junior’s decision to snub a move to Arsenal further increased competition for places in attack. The Gunners also held talks with Mourinho’s men over a move for Endrick, with Brazilian sources revealing interest from Liverpool.Madrid’s No.9 ultimately stayed put, but has been an unused substitute on four occasions this season in LaLiga and in Europe.Endrick has made just one competitive appearance under Mourinho, coming on in the 86th minute of a 3-2 win over Elche last month. He fell further down the pecking order following the summer arrival of Carlos Espi, who has scored twice in four appearances this term.Endrick scored eight goals during a loan spell with Lyon last seasonGettyMourinho dismisses Endrick transfer exitFormer Chelsea, Manchester United and Tottenham boss Mourinho insisted that Endrick is going nowhere in January.Speaking in a press conference ahead of Wednesday’s Champions League fixture against Roma, he said: “Forget it, forget it.“Forget the clubs that are interested. Better to sit down and wait; otherwise, you will get tired. “He is a player I love; he has incredible potential. “He is very important for us. Whoever is interested in him will have to fight hard with me — I believe he does not need to be loaned and he will have the greatest success.”Endrick has long since been linked with a move to the Premier LeagueGettyEndrick told ‘he has to go’Despite Mourinho’s claims, European football expert Andy Brassell has stated that Endrick has been given little option but to leave. He exclusively told talkSPORT.com: “I think he’ll go in winter, and I think he has to make the most of his career.“He showed at Lyon the good and the bad, the fact that he has all the ability in the world.“He’s able to handle himself and carry himself like a superstar, not in terms of being arrogant, but actually in being quite adept and well attuned to his environment, to understanding the responsibility that goes with being a real big player. “Funnily enough, if he was able to get into the Real Madrid team, I think he’d be a perfect Real Madrid player.“Someone who has the responsibility to grasp big moments, but also someone who understands how to say the right thing in terms of the institution.“Great communicator, smart guy, but not getting a sniff at Real Madrid. He’s not going to either. Mourinho highlighted the injury that kept Endrick sidelined until September 12th as the root cause behind his slow start to the seasonAFP“His heart must have sunk when they went out and bought Yan Diomandé,” Brassell continued. “Of course people will look at it and say he’s not direct competition.“Well, he kind of is actually because if Yan Diomande is playing on the right-hand side, Endrick did a lot of that at Lyon – not playing centre forward but playing as a right forward coming in on to that left foot.“He’s not just a good goalscorer; he’s a creator – he’s not dead weight. I think when he receives criticism, and some of that criticism because of his profile, it’s unreasonably harsh. “He doesn’t throw his toys out of the pram; he handles it very well and takes it on board. “And I just think after what he did in the second half of last season, this first half of this season is just a massive waste of his time.“I think it’s a real shame. I just don’t see the point where he can actually get some space to get a chance in this Real Madrid team. “And I think Real Madrid’s mishandling of him is a huge part of this.“Whether they’re going to keep him long term or whether they want to use him as collateral, sell him and spend the money on something else, they have to get him out, and they have to get him out playing because otherwise his value is going to plummet, and he’s not going to develop into the player that he really should be.”Aston Villa considered a loan move for Endrick last summerGettyEndrick to Aston Villa?Fresh reports have now emerged that Aston Villa are planning to make another move to sign Endrick on loan in January.talkSPORT understands the Villans were considering bringing the Real Madrid starlet to Villa Park on a temporary basis in August.Endrick has also had long-standing interest from Italy, with AC Milan and Roma listed as the two main contenders for his signature.Brassell added: “I think from Real Madrid’s perspective, loaning him to Villa makes a lot of sense because if you put him out there in a Premier League context, and he does well, and he’s ‘Premier League proven’, you can probably sell him for whatever you like.“You’re going to get the biggest fee from selling him to a Premier League club. So I understand that. “On the other hand, I think if you’re going to get him somewhere where it’s more of a sure thing adapting and scoring a lot of goals and getting assists, then Serie A is the one!“Best move for him, Milan. Best move for Real Madrid, if a slightly more risky one, Villa.”
