VoxScribe update: the offline voice typing app now has an Android version, plus the fixes you asked for

Wait 5 sec.

A while back VoxScribe got some great feedback here: a free Windows app where you hold a hotkey, talk, and the text is typed into whatever app you’re in, with Whisper running on your own PC so nothing is uploaded. Some of that feedback turned straight into features, so here’s what changed and where it could use fresh eyes. From your comments: people worried about the Windows SmartScreen warning on an unsigned installer, so there’s now a plain page explaining it, plus winget and Scoop installs that usually avoid it. Someone asked for an adjustable typing delay for rich text editors that scramble fast input, and that’s in Settings now, anywhere from 5 to 200 ms. The biggest change is an Android app. It’s a floating button above your normal keyboard that types what you say into any app, fully on the phone and offline, and it can also turn voice notes and videos into text or captions. On Windows there’s a new “Try harder” key: if a word comes out wrong, press F8 within two minutes and the same recording runs again through a bigger model, and only the wrong words are retyped. Both apps now have dictation modes (Chat, Email, Code, Notes), so a chat message doesn’t end with a full stop but an email gets proper sentences, and neither one ever types into a password box. It’s free and open source (MIT), with an optional one-time $14 Pro for bigger models and automation. What would help most is trying it for a day of normal typing and saying where it fails: accents, jargon, apps where the text comes out wrong, anything that felt slow or confusing. The Android version is brand new, so feedback on that is extra welcome.
