I'm the developer of Kumilo, an AI app for kids with settings managed by parents. It's available on iPhone, iPad and Android. Kids can write or speak to Kumi, ask follow-up questions, explore illustrated explanations and create stories to read or listen to. For example, “Why do cats have whiskers?” can be the start of a conversation and a picture-based explanation. Or a child can suggest a story idea and have the story read aloud. There isn't a fixed course to follow. Parents set up the account and profiles, choose the language and explanation level, and manage permissions for voice and photo input in a protected parent area. Children don't need their own account. There is a limited free usage allowance, with optional paid monthly subscriptions for more usage. AI features require internet access. Safety checks are included, but AI can still make mistakes; parents should explore the app themselves before deciding whether it fits their family. iPhone / iPad · Android If you were choosing an AI app for your child, what would you want to check first in the parent setup? Please keep examples general, without sharing personal details about children. submitted by /u/micyarr [link] [comments]
