Do you want a shotgun, but you also want a lever-action? And you want it to be easy to shoot? It’s like the perfect crossroads of all fudd-tactical concepts, and now Derya Arms hears your cry—and meets your specs, with the new EX1500 .410 shotgun. Fudd tactical:[SHOT 2025] Chiappa Goes Full Space Cowboy POTD: Integrally Suppressed Henry H23 Supreme in .300 Blackout TFB Review: Smith & Wesson 1854 Stealth Hunter .357 Magnum Wheelgun Wednesday: Chiappa Rhino Stormhunter Edition Review An old idea is new againThe idea of a lever-action .410 is nothing new at all; Winchester and Marlin both sold them in the past, and while they weren’t very common, they were something you could definitely find on the used market, as long as you didn’t mind a relatively high price. That has changed over the past half-decade, as the Turkish manufacturers begin reverse-engineering Western lever-action designs and then re-releasing them. Now, you see a lot of lower-priced lever-actions chambered in .357 Magnum, and you see some chambered in .410 as well. The names aren’t familiar from the pages of old hunting magazines, but the guns themselves are. Typically, they’re patterned on Winchester Model 1892 actions, but no doubt with changes intended to make mass production easier. You rarely (basically, never) see reviews of these new lever-actions in gun mags, but they’re certainly all over the market. The Derya Arms EX1500This new shotgun was just announced as coming to the USA, with a modern take on the lever-action format. It has a full steel receiver mated to a smoothbore barrel (18-inch, 20-inch or 24-inch lengths available). That barrel is threaded for Mobilchokes, and comes with Full, Modified and Cylinder chokes. There’s a fixed blade-style front sight and an adjustable rear sight, and a Picatinny rail for a red dot, if that’s how you roll. The EX1500 is only chambered for 2.5-inch shells. The 18-inch version of the EX1500 is called the Ironwolf and has an adjustable aluminum stock with cheek rest, along with an M-LOK forend and other tactical features. The 20-inch and 24-inch versions of the shotgun come with walnut stocks, with a 14-inch length-of-pull. The 20-inch comes with a nickel finish; the 24-inch version comes with an engraved hard chrome finish. All versions of the EX1500 come with a 4.4-pound trigger pull. Why buy one? People want shotgun capability with quick-shooting action and lever-action features and ergos. And this is a much cheaper way to do that, without buying a vintage firearm. The .410’s recoil is minimal, even with buckshot, and so is this shotgun’s damage on your wallet (pricing will range from $799 to $999 when they’re in stock). All photos: DeryaIf this post has you ready to hit the range, head over to gunranges.com - a free directory to help you find shooting ranges near you, wherever you are in the United States.
