On October 14, guests arrived at EPCOT to find that Walt Disney World Resort had instructed its cast members to close the single-rider line for Test Track. Disney did not announce this change in advance, but appears to be testing a new operating procedure that could end the popular time-saving hack for guests willing to ride the 27-year-old attraction alone.Test Track Single-Rider Line ClosedCredit: DisneyOn Wednesday, X (formerly known as Twitter) user @DisneyWorldTom visited EPCOT and attempted to enter the single-rider line for Test Track. However, Disney cast members at the entrance to the World Discovery attraction turned him away.According to the Central Florida Disney Park guest, the single-rider line for Test Track will remain closed through the end of the day on October 14 as cast members test a “new operating procedure.” It’s unclear whether the single-rider queue will reopen on Thursday, October 15. UPDATE: The Single Rider line at Test Track in EPCOT is closed today.According to a Cast Member, the line will remain closed for the entire day as Disney tests a new operating procedure. No word yet on whether this will lead to any permanent changes. If Test Track goes the way of another Central Florida Disney Park attraction, this test could mean the permanent end of the single-rider queue.Expedition Everest Single-Rider Line ClosureCredit: Jeremy Thompson, FlickrEarlier this year, Walt Disney World Resort tested a similar operating procedure on Expedition Everest at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park. Instead of using the single-rider line to fill empty seats, Disney cast members sorted parties in the regular queue into two groups: evens and odds. This allowed them to efficiently fill trains without relying on a separate single-rider line. The test was a massive success. In September, the Expedition Everest single-rider line permanently closed. Walt Disney World Resort recently removed all traces of the alternative queue from the attraction.Credit: Jennifer Lynn, FlickrSeveral other Walt Disney World Resort attractions still utilize single-rider queues, including Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run and Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets at Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure at EPCOT. Disney cast members sometimes open a single-rider line for Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, but availability varies, and access is not guaranteed.Have you ever used the single-rider line for Test Track at EPCOT?
