Promvia - an AI visibility tracker. 10 weeks in, AI still doesn't name us for the questions that matter. Here's what our own data says about why.

Wait 5 sec.

I'm building Promvia (promvia.app). It asks ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude and Google's AI Overviews and AI Mode the questions your buyers ask, and records whether each answer names you and which sources it cites. I've been running it on our own site since August, and the results are humbling. When someone asks about us by name ("What is Promvia"), 6 of 7 engines cite us. On the 15 unbranded questions we track ("best AI visibility tools" and similar), we're named in 0. The sources AI uses for those answers are almost never a vendor's own site. Reddit is cited for 17 of our 19 questions and YouTube for 12. One Zapier listicle was cited 78 times across 7 questions in three weeks. Google treats our name as a typo of Promovia, a joint-injection brand, so "promvia" alone shows a page of hyaluronic acid. "promvia ai visibility" puts us first. My takeaway after 10 weeks: on-site work got our readiness score to 78/100 and then stopped mattering. What decides these answers is the handful of lists, threads and videos the engines read. So the next 30 days are off-site: ask those list authors, launch on Product Hunt, and track narrower questions where we're actually different (revenue from AI traffic, Shopify, Turkish market). If you've launched something in a crowded category, what got you into the "best X" lists? Happy to share the raw numbers. submitted by /u/woodoo139 [link] [comments]
