Hi everyone, We are an indie dev team currently working on our upcoming narrative game, Project : The Fifth Floor. We are looking to commission an experienced digital painter to create 10 sequential illustrations (keyframes) that will bring our game's official Teaser Trailer to life. Visual Style & Art Direction: We are looking for a raw, psychological, expressionist oil-painted look heavily inspired by Disco Elysium (Aleksander Rostov) and artists like Piotr Jabłoński or Francis Bacon. Heavy brushwork & Color Blocking: We want visible, textured dry-brush strokes, sharp edges, and bold color contrasts that sculpt volume without relying on smooth airbrushing or soft digital blending. Atmospheric & Psychological: High expressive priority over clean academic anatomy. Shadows, lighting, and abstract background elements should bleed into the scene to convey mood and tension. Strictly NO AI: Everything must be hand-painted. We require intermediate WIP checks (rough composition sketch + initial color blocking) before final rendering. Scope & Technical Deliverables: Quantity: 10 narrative illustrations (16:9 widescreen format, 1920x1080 minimum, ideally 2K/4K for camera pans). Trailer-Ready Layers (.PSD): Since these illustrations will be animated in post-production for a teaser trailer (2.5D parallax, slow camera zooms, subtle movement), the final files must be delivered as layered PSDs with separated foreground, midground/characters, and background elements. Rights: Commercial use for game promotion, store pages, and marketing/trailer release (full credit given, of course). Budget & Payment: Budget: Open / To be discussed case-by-case. Since the complexity of the 10 scenes varies and we want to evaluate each artist's experience and existing commission sheet, please let us know your standard rates (and any bulk pricing for a 10-piece package), and we will agree on a fair quote together. Payment method: PayPal Goods & Services, structured in safe milestones (starting with 1 paid test illustration before locking in the remaining 9). How to Apply: Please comment below (do not DM without commenting first) with: A link to your portfolio (ArtStation, Cara, VGen, or personal website — no Google Drive links or Instagram-only links, please). Specific examples of your heavy painterly / expressionist work (if you only do clean anime, cel-shading, or standard fantasy rendering, please skip this one). Your standard rates or a rough estimate for this type of work so we have a starting point to discuss. To prove you read the brief and aren't an automated bot, please include the word "Ascensore" (or "Revachol") somewhere in your comment. Looking forward to seeing your portfolios! submitted by /u/Cool-Assistance-1547 [link] [comments]
