The gun’s gas system is not adjustable without changing the gas plug, and the added backpressure from many suppressors can wreck the operating rod. But with those issues addressed, it is possible. The biggest remaining hurdle is the unique thread pitch used on the barrel. The M14’s flash hider also acts as the front sight base. Removing that muzzle device to use this HUB mount will require relocating the front sight if you want to keep irons on the gun. The solution to this is the Smith Enterprises Gas Lock, which provides a new front sight mount back at the gas plug. The M1A/M14 HUB Mount retails for $89.95. An optional mounting wrench is also available for $12.95. Both are in stock as of writing and are available for purchase directly from Fulton Armory. All images from Fulton Armory. From the manufacturer:“Designed and produced by Fulton Armory, the M1A/M14 HUB Suppressor Mount gives M1A/M14 owners a way to attach a compatible HUB-pattern suppressor. The mount uses standard .595″ × 32 right-hand M1A/M14 muzzle threads and a 1.375″ × 24 HUB suppressor interface. The mount fits rifles with 18.5″ and 22″ barrels. It also fits 18″ models, with one maintenance consideration: the mount must be removed to access and clean the gas piston on an 18″ model.”
