Hey r/SideProject! I've been building MovieHit (moviehit.online) on my own for a while, and I'd love some honest feedback. It started as "rate and review films," but I kept adding the things I wished other film sites had: - Smart watchlists: make a list like "everything by Denis Villeneuve" and it fills itself and stays up to date as the catalogue grows - 6 film games with leaderboards: Pixel Peek (guess the film from a blurred poster), Rate Off, Hit or Miss and more - Star map: explore films as a galaxy and find what's nearby - Taste match: see how close your taste is to a friend's - Reviews with replies, votes, reactions and proper spoiler tags - Film requests: if something's missing, ask and follow it into the catalogue Stack: React + TypeScript + Tailwind on the front, Django REST on the back. What I'd love to know: Is it clear within 5 seconds what the site is for? Which feature would actually make you come back? Anything broken or confusing? You can browse and play the games without an account. Thanks for taking a look! submitted by /u/KissDeviDavid [link] [comments]
