As a nurse who graduated and immediately worked covid.. I feel I just never recovered. Im sure I need therapy and that is in the works. I have also worked night shift for all 7 years. I can no longer sleep, and am extremely stressed out as soon as I walk in to shift. I got a really good paying government job that is essentially a 9-5 and pays better than inpatient. However, I am noticing a struggle within me of leaving what I felt was the “nursiest” job and the only thing I have ever done to a softer job. I have changed specialties and applied to a lot of different positions. the burnout eases but comes right back. I know for my mental health and my future this is the best option. What if I want to go back, is it impossible? Did anyone else feel torn about finally leaving the hospital. Its like a terrible trauma bond and im upset I feel this way. I love my 12 hour shifts but they didn’t love me back lol.. submitted by /u/Lola_lasizzle [link] [comments]
