As of right now, there's no release date for Squad's console version. The PC version of the game launched in 2020, and it has been one of the more beloved tactical shooters on Steam for some time. Before Wardogs ever came into the picture, Squad attempted to strike a balance between the milsim nature of Arma with the more fast-paced action of more mainstream shooters like Call of Duty or Battlefield. It'll be interesting to see if Squad can beat Wardogs to consoles. Bulkhead has already announced that Wardogs will hit consoles in 2028 and recently told IGN that expects the game to also have a port on next-gen hardware, when it becomes available. The studio also revealed that it has been building Wardogs with Xbox Series S in mind, ensuring that not only will it be optimized for consoles, but also for lower-end PCs.
